Q: What is WMSH?
A: Were a full-service marketing communications firm, which means were in the business of advertising and public relations.
Q: Youre not a radio or television station?
A: No. Our name represents the initials of the last names of our four original founders (Willmann, Meyer, Shelton & Hiller). And it also stands for the premise on which weve built the agency: We Make Success Happen.
Q: So, what do you really do?
A: We offer a complete spectrum of marketing communications strategies and tactics to reach target audiences on behalf of our clients.
Q: Like what?
A: We think. Which means that we provide strategic planning and consultation, branding, corporate positioning, conceptual packaging, market research, and public policy consulting services. And we do. So we also provide a full spectrum of creative and design services, audio and video production, media planning and placement, media relations and training, community relations, and special events services.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: We were created in January of 1997. And our sister company, the Willmann/Thomas Group (WTG) was started in 1999.
Q: Who owns WMSH?
A: The agency is privately held by the principals.
Q: Where are you located?
A: In Haddonfield, NJ, a community with more trees than people. Were just seven miles from Center City Philadelphia, a 20-minute from City Hall on PATCO, the regional rail line. Were also just 6 miles and 9 minutes from Exit 4 of the New Jersey Turnpike and just two miles and four minutes from Exit 32 of I-295.

A: Of course. Our mission is to always achieve outstanding marketing results by delivering consistently excellent work for which we are fairly paid and which we have fun doing. We firmly believe that our clients choices are not really drawn from the time-honored trilogy of better, faster, and cheaper. We believe that ifworking togetherwe work smarter, we can and will produce work that is better, faster, less expensive, and more effective!

Q: Whos the boss?
A: Michael Willmann is the Chairman and CEO of WMSH.
Q: Whats his background?
A: Michael is a former Emmy-winning television news and public affairs producer for Group W Television (KYW-TV and Satellite News Channel) and award-winning reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer. A graduate of Fordham University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, he is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to founding WMSH, he served as Executive Vice President for Marketing of The Star Group, directing all of the firms public relations and new business activities and serving as Chairman of that firms Plans Board, the strategic think tank composed of the agencys senior managers. Michael is a co-author of the Southern New Jersey Development Councils 2002 Regional Development Plan and a co-author of the first published study of the creation of a federal cabinet-level housing agency, Praeger Publishings 1967 The Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Q: Whats he done lately?
A: Hes a is a graduate of Leadership New Jerseys Class of 2001 and has been honored as the Philadelphia Ad Clubs Marketing All-Star, as the recipient of both the Fulginiti Award and the DeAnn White Award, presented annually by the Philadelphia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and as the recipient of the Philadelphia Bar Associations Scales of Justice Award. This year Michael has been selected as the recipient of the (New Jersey) Governors Volunteer Award for the Arts, the Chairmans Award presented by the Southern New Jersey Development Council, and recognizedfor the second timefor outstanding corporate philanthropy in the arts by the Community Foundation of New Jersey.
Q: Community involvement?
A: He is the Vice Chairman of the Arts and Business Partnership of Southern New Jersey and a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Southern New Jersey Development Council, which he serves as Director of Policy and Programs. Hes also been a youth baseball, basketball, soccer coach and official for more than 30 years.
Q: Academic affiliations?
A: Michael has taught at the collegiate and professional levels, where his courses have included Copywriting, Creative Concepts, Management, Advertising, Business Law, Journalism, and Marketing. And he has served as a member of the faculty of the Institute for Advanced Advertising Studies, which is presented annually by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As).
